51 MASTER PIECES TRACING THE KEY TURNING POINTS IN FRENCH PAINTING

Ready for a poetic journey ? The exhibition, From Monet to Soulages will allow you to retrace the major artistic revolutions in French painting through some of the finest works from the Museum’s collection. 

The exhibition displays several works of the Grand Masters such as Claude Monet, Gustave Courbet, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso or Pierre Soulages. From the realism period to the most contemporary art, the journey takes us through impressionism, symbolism, cubism, surrealism and the abstract movements, illustrating the key turning points in art of the last two centuries.

This travelling exhibition returned from China where it was seen by more than a million Chinese visitors ! It was presented at the Museum of Modern Art of the University of Tsinghua (Beijing) from May to August 2017. It was then hosted by the Chengdu Municipal Museum from September to December 2017 and at the Wuhan Art Museum from December to April 2018.
