Protection of personal data – application of European regulation 2016-679 “GDPR”.
In the context of its public service mission, Saint-Étienne Metropole applies different forms of personal data processing. In this respect it is subject to the measures of European regulation 2016/679, General Data Protection Regulation, also known as the GDPR, coming into effect on 25 May 2018. This text reinforces obligations related to the protection of data and persons concerned, previously defined by the Data protection act, 78-17.

What is personal data processing?
This is manual or computerized processing relating to data allowing the direct or indirect identification of physical persons (e.g. the use of data such as: name and first name, photographs, nominative e-mails, login numbers, localization data, specific data on the physical, physiological or economic identity of a person, etc.)

What protection do persons whose data is processed by Saint-Étienne Metropole benefit from?
For each processing act, generally for data collection, concise, transparent and full information must be provided. This should allow persons concerned to understand the aim of the data collection and to help them to control their data by facilitating the exercise of their rights (opposition, access, rectification, eradication, limitation, portability).

Contact details of the delegate for data protection for Saint-Étienne Metropole:
Saint-Etienne has designated a Data Protection Officer (DPO) who is the official representative for all questions related to the exercise of rights of persons concerned by a processing act implemented by a Metropolitan department. You can contact the person by e-mail: claire.teppaz@saint-etienne-metropole.fr.
